The Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) is conducting a validation workshop for the Local Government Council Induction Training Materials as part of preparations for the nationwide induction of newly elected Local Government Leaders.
The workshop aims to validate the materials by reviewing their accuracy, clarity, and practical relevance, ensuring that the content is technically sound, easy for councillors to understand, and aligned with the day to day responsibilities of Local Government leaders.
Participants will also identify gaps, make recommendations, and build consensus on the final training packages before it is rolled out across the country.
The workshop has brought together key stakeholders and development partners, including the Ministry of Local Government Heads of Departments , Parish Development Model Setretariat, the Netherlands Association of Municipalities (VNG International), the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Uganda Local Governments Association (ULGA), the Alliance of Mayors and Municipal Leaders on HIV/AIDS in Africa – Uganda Chapter (AMICAALL Uganda), and the Uganda Association of Urban Authorities (UAAU), among others.
The one day workshop is currently underway at Silver Springs Hotel Kampala.
