Masaka, Uganda – The Minister of local government, Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, together with the Minister of State for Local Government, Hon. Justine Nameere and a team of officials, visited the Masaka City Stadium construction site to assess the progress of the ongoing works.
During the inspection, the ministers expressed disappointment with the pace of construction, noting that the project appeared to be progressing far more slowly than expected. They emphasized the importance of completing the stadium on schedule, given its significance to sports development and the community.
Concerns were further raised by individuals described as whistleblowers, who alleged that only four workers were actively present on the construction site at the time of the visit. They also claimed that water used for construction was being transported using a wheelbarrow instead of more efficient methods, a situation they described as surprising and indicative of the logistical challenges affecting the project.
