Monitoring of Road Works
The Commissioner for Local Government, together with the Rural Development Support and Coordination Unit (RUDSEC) of the Ministry of Local Government and the Soroti District leadership, conducted monitoring of the ongoing works on the Atirir–Achuna–Orungo Border Road in Soroti District.
The road project is being implemented with funding from the Ministry of Local Government. The monitoring team assessed the progress of works, with culvert installation currently ongoing along the road.
The team also reviewed the quality and progress of the works and engaged the implementing team on the need to maintain the required standards and ensure timely completion of the project.
Meanwhile , Soroti District Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Mr Emmanuel Ssempala, led a monitoring visit to Tiriri Health Centre IV to assess the delivery of health services at the facility.
The monitoring focused, among other areas, on service delivery, sanitation and hygiene, staff attendance and general service delivery. The team noted that sanitation at the facility has improved considerably, alongside improved staff attendance to duty.
The monitoring visits are part of the district’s continued efforts to strengthen oversight, improve public infrastructure and ensure effective delivery of government services to communities.
