RESIDENTS OF PALLISA INTERCEPT MINISTER BALAAM, DEMAND ACTION ON CORRUPTION

Pallisa District

Hon. Balaam, has been intercepted by residents of Pallisa Town as he makes his way to Kaliro District for the ongoing Presidential Anti-Corruption Campaign.

Hon. Balaam, who is scheduled to lead the Presidential Directive to Expose & Eliminate Corruption in Uganda activities in Kaliro District today, made an impromptu stop to address the residents.

The residents told the Minister that they were tired of corruption, particularly in the implementation of government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM), and pleaded with him to bring the anti-corruption crusade to Pallisa.

In response, Hon. Balaam assured them that no district will be left behind in the clean-up exercise.

“I have heard you, the people of Pallisa. I was on my way to Kaliro for the PDM assessment, inspection and to expose the corrupt, but I have heard your cry,” Hon. Balaam said. “I want to assure you, I am going to come to Pallisa very soon. Every district has to be cleansed of corruption. This is a presidential directive from H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, and we shall not spare anyone.”

He emphasized that the campaign, being spearheaded by Ministry of Local Government in partnership with the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, is aimed at exposing corrupt activities, assessing the PDM, and holding technical staff and political leaders accountable.
