The Permanent Secretary, Mr Ben Kumumanya, has commended the outgoing Under Secretary, Hajji Sewante Kaliphan, for his dedication, commitment and contribution to the Ministry during his tenure.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr Kumumanya highlighted commitment, sacrifice and patience as the three fundamental principles that have guided the Under Secretaries leadership and service to the Ministry.
During Hajji Kaliphan’s tenure, the Ministry registered several achievements, including the successful development and implementation of the Service Client Charter, the Ministry’s Strategic Plan for FY 2025/30, and the procurement of vehicles for Local Council Five (LCV) District Chairpersons, among other accomplishments.
The incoming Under Secretary, Mr. Kaima Godfrey, pledged to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor, noting that he would pick up from where Hajji Kaliphan had stopped to ensure continuity in the Ministry’s operations.
Mr. Kaima expressed confidence that his experience and expertise, accumulated over the years of service in Local Government, would enable him to effectively execute his responsibilities and contribute to the Ministry’s mandate.
In his remarks, Hajji Sewante Kaliphan thanked the Permanent Secretary and the entire Ministry staff for the support, cooperation and encouragement extended to him throughout his tenure.
He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve in the Ministry and work alongside its staff, noting the importance of teamwork and institutional support in achieving organisational objectives. Hajji Kaliphan has since taken up his new appointment as Under Secretary at the Ministry of Health.
