Darius Tugumisirize (In black) from Kasaba Parish, Kyembongo Subcounty, Kyenjojo District, received PDM Ugx 1M in February 2026 under the Fruits Value Chain.
He used it to hire-purchase a Tricycle (Tuk Tuk) which he uses to transport pineapples that he buys from farmers to the market in Katooke trading centre.
Today, (16th July, 2026)During our Assessment field Activity on PDM supported Enterprises and Market Linkages under LED Dept MolG , we met him at his trade.
When he buys pineapples worth Ugx 500,000/=, his sales are on average Ugx 1M.
Every month, he deposits Ugx 1,800,000 for repaying the Tuk Tuk loan.which he will complete in 3 months .
He also indicated that once he completes paying for the Tuk Tuk, he will hire-purchase another Tuk Tuk and he will employ someone else to use it since there’s enough market for the pineapple.
