Mukono District Local Government (DLG), with technical support from the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), has made significant progress in implementing its Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) under the thematic area of Procurement and Contract Management.
The intervention has focused on strengthening compliance with public procurement laws and regulations, enhancing accountability and transparency in the management of public resources, and promoting value for money in government expenditure. These efforts have contributed to improved governance systems and more effective, efficient, and citizen-centered service delivery across the district.
Through continuous technical guidance, capacity building, and performance monitoring, the district has addressed key procurement and contract management gaps while reinforcing best practices that support sustainable institutional performance.
As a result, Mukono DLG is now fully prepared to host the Minister’s visit, providing an opportunity to showcase the progress achieved, lessons learned, and the district’s commitment to strengthening public sector performance and delivering quality services to its citizens.
