Mr. Harrison Ouma Wafula, the President of the Uganda Public Sector Human Resource Managers Network (UPS-HRMNet), has stressed the critical role of HR in recruiting key personnel across sectors during the meeting of Heads of Human Resource in Local Governments and Secretaries of City/District Commissions.

He has called on Heads of HR and Secretaries to join the umbrella body, highlighting benefits such as collective lobbying for salary increments, eligibility for senior positions like DCAO, and support during legal challenges.

Mr. Wafula shared an example of a member who was recently arrested but was bailed out with contributions from fellow members. He, however, cautioned against deliberately breaking the law while expecting assistance.

He further noted that his efforts, alongside those of his executive committee, focus on promoting professionalism within the HR cadre.
