Day Two of the six day Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Induction of Local Government Councils has kicked off in Masaka, with facilitators being equipped with the knowledge, skills and instructional materials needed to prepare for the induction of newly elected Local Government leaders.
The training is timely as the newly elected leaders are already in office and require induction to strengthen their understanding of their statutory roles, Constitutional, legal and institutional mandates, as well as their governance responsibilities, to effectively execute their mandates and improve local service delivery.
The ToT programme focuses on governance, legal frameworks and operational mandates, equipping trainers to deliver a standardised induction programme to the newly elected leaders.
At the end of the Six -day training, the trainers will undertake an assessment to evaluate their knowledge and readiness to roll out the induction programme.
