The Ministry of Local Government yesterday concluded its procurement compliance inspection exercise in Central Uganda with a visit to Kalungu District Local Government, marking the completion of engagements in the region.
Led by the Acting Commissioner for Procurement Inspection and Coordination, Mr. Johnson Musinguzi, the inspection team previously conducted similar engagements in Sembabule, Bukomansimbi, and Kyotera districts, where they reviewed procurement records, engaged local government officials on procurement and contract management issues, and assessed compliance with public procurement regulations.
In Kalungu District, the team conducted a field verification visit to Kabukunge Muslim Secondary School, a Government-aided institution with an enrollment of over 2,000 students.

The team monitored the construction of the school’s science laboratory and assessed its progress. The Project is almost complete with contractor handling terrazo and final finishes.
The findings from the exercise will inform recommendations aimed at strengthening procurement management, accountability, and compliance in Local Governments.
