MASAKA CITY, 14 October 2026 — Councillors undergoing induction in Masaka City participated in a mock Council sitting on Wednesday to gain practical experience in conducting Council business in accordance with the Standard Rules of Procedure.
The exercise, held on the second day of the Induction of Local Government Councils at the Masaka City Mayor’s Chambers, was guided by Sebukyu Tebyasa, a facilitator from the Ministry of Local Government. It enabled participants to practise presenting motions, conducting debates and following Council procedures.
Three motions were presented for deliberation, covering road naming, education and budget approval.
The practical session complemented the training on legislation, giving councillors an opportunity to familiarise themselves with how Council sittings are conducted and decisions made.
