Kabarole District Local Government hosted a technical support mission from the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), led by the Assistant Commissioner for Performance Improvement and Capacity Development (PICD), Mr. Johnson Musinguzi.
The team is providing technical support to the district on the development and implementation of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for Local Governments in accordance with Section 105 of the Local Governments Act, Cap. 138. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the performance of local governments through continuous capacity building and institutional strengthening.
As part of the support mission, the team is coordinating and overseeing performance improvement interventions under the thematic area of Procurement and Contract Management. The focus is on strengthening compliance with procurement regulations, promoting accountability and transparency, and ensuring value for money in the utilization of public resources.
The engagement underscores the Ministry of Local Government’s commitment to improving governance systems and service delivery by equipping local governments with the knowledge and tools required to implement best practices in procurement and overall performance management.
