KABUNDAIRE, FORT PORTAL CITY – In a move aimed at bridging the gap between government and grassroots traders, Hon. Balaam, has held an interactive engagement with vendors at Kabundaire Main Market.
The meeting is part of the ongoing Presidential Anti-Corruption Campaign barazas being conducted across the country to promote accountability and service delivery.
The engagement focuses on three key areas:
- PDM Engagement and Assessment: Reviewing how Parish Development Model (PDM) funds are reaching the intended beneficiaries within the market community.
- Inspection of the Market Project: Assessing the progress, quality of works, and accountability in the development and management of Kabundaire Market.
- Addressing Traders on Progress and Development: Giving vendors a direct platform to raise their concerns, challenges and suggestions to government.
While addressing the traders, Hon. Balaam has emphasized fairness and inclusivity in market management. “There should not be landlords in the market, there should not be divisions by who is rich and who is poor. The market is for everyone regardless of status,” the Minister said.
