MBALE – Hon. Balaam has this morning commissioned YANGTZE Industry Limited, the first glue manufacturing company in East Africa, at Mbale Industrial Park.
The Chairman and his team, led by Mr. Paul Zhang, welcomed Hon. Balaam at the grand opening ceremony.
The event was attended by the Town Clerk of Industrial City Division, the Mayor of Industrial City Division, the City Mayor, and other leaders.
Speaking at the commissioning, Hon. Balaam thanked the founder of the factory, Mr. Paul Zhang, for choosing Uganda for the investment, noting that the factory will create jobs for many Ugandans both directly and indirectly.
In his remarks, Hon. Balaam emphasized government’s commitment to protecting investments. “Uganda is ready for industrialization. Uganda is committed to providing security for investors under the leadership of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces. Your investment is safe and secure,” Hon. Balaam said.
He added that Mbale Industrial Park is becoming a model for import substitution and job creation, and called upon more investors to take advantage of Uganda’s favorable investment climate.
YANGTZE Industry Limited is expected to supply glue to the local and regional market, reducing importation costs and boosting local manufacturing.
