The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Ben Kumumanya, has commended districts that are performing well in recruitment, citing Mityana, Kiruhura, Mbarara, Arua, and Kisoro as examples of good practice.
He also recognized Mbarara and Luwero for their strong performance in the collection and utilization of local revenue, urging other Local Governments (LGs) to benchmark and learn from them.
Speaking at the Day Two session of the Joint Regional Development Programme Annual Review (JRDPAR), Mr. Kumumanya appreciated participants for their contributions in the previous discussions and emphasized that decentralisation should focus on effective implementation rather than debating whether it is good or bad.
