KABALE DISTRICT, 8 October 2026 — The Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development (General Duties), Hon. Henry Musasizi, has urged newly elected political leaders in Kabale District to prioritise service delivery over personal interests, reminding them that effective leadership and accountability are key to earning and retaining public trust.
Addressing participants at the conclusion of the Induction of Local Government Councils, Hon. Musasizi congratulated the leaders upon their election and reflected on his own leadership experience in the greater Kabale area.
In a light-hearted moment, Hon. Musasizi revisited his familiar refrain, “Money will come,” before emphasising the importance of responsible leadership, transparency and equitable service delivery.
He cautioned leaders against corruption and urged them to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the induction, making regular reference to the training materials provided.
The Minister further called for stronger oversight of Government programmes, including the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, GROW and the Social Assistance Grants for Empowerment (SAGE), to ensure their implementation in accordance with established guidelines.
He also encouraged political leaders to promote unity, reject sectarianism and work collectively towards the development of their communities.
The Minister commended the Ministry of Local Government for spearheading the induction programme, noting its contribution to strengthening decentralisation and equipping elected leaders with the knowledge required to effectively execute their mandate.
