The State Minister for Local Government, Honourable Justine Nameere Nsubuga, represented President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the closing of the Mothers’ Union Buganda Regional Annual Conference in Masaka today.
The four-day conference brought together thousands of mothers from across 12 Anglican dioceses at Kijjabwemi Secondary School in West Buganda Diocese.
The event featured spiritual teachings, a colourful procession through Masaka City and discussions on family values, affordable SACCO loans and economic empowerment aimed at fighting household poverty.
Honourable Nameere commended the Mothers’ Union for its contribution to strengthening families and promoting household development, noting the important role of women in advancing community transformation.
The conference was also marked by the official launch of the Mothers’ Union’s new website by the Bishop of West Buganda Diocese, the Right Reverend Nsereko, alongside performances by the Namirembe Diocese Mary Sumner Choir.
