KIKYO, Bundibugyo — Hon. Balaam, has applauded the management and staff of Kikyo Health Centre IV for their commitment to serving the community despite limited resources.
Hon. Balaam made the remarks during a visit to the facility in the Rwenzori region. According to the facility’s charter, Kikyo Health Centre IV is guided by a vision “To have a community in which all people archive their potential for health & well-being across their life span in Rwenzori region” and a mission to be the leading provider of health services, life promotive, curative and palliative care to communities in the Rwenzori region.

Despite the wide range of services and dedication of the staff, Hon. Balaam noted that the facility is grappling with a major challenge, inadequate beds to accommodate the growing number of patients, especially in the maternity and in-patient wards.
“The work being done here is commendable. The health workers are truly serving the people of Rwenzori with limited resources. The main issue raised is having few beds, which affects service delivery,” Hon. Balaam said.
The Minister pledged to take up the matter with the Ministry of Health to ensure that Kikyo Health Centre IV is considered for additional beds and further support to enhance its capacity.
