KASESE — Hon. Balaam Barugahara on has visited Hamukungu Secondary School to inspect the LoCAL-funded kitchen project that has come under scrutiny over alleged mismanagement.
The inspection has been conducted jointly with officials from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit. According to the team on ground, the purpose was to assess the status of the facility and verify accountability in the use of LoCAL project funds.
Speaking to residents after touring the site, Hon. Balaam said government remains committed to ensuring public resources are used transparently and for the intended purpose.
During the exercise, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit arrested the Natural Resources Officer overseeing the construction. Officials did not release further details, but said investigations into the implementation and supervision of the kitchen project are ongoing.
