Pakwach— Minister Hon. Balaam Barugahara has flagged alleged mismanagement at Boro Health Center II in Pakwach district, accusing facility managers of defying directives and carrying out substandard construction works.
Addressing leaders at the district headquarters, Hon. Balaam said the health center proceeded to pay for and continue construction of the maternity ward despite clear instructions to halt the works.
“The health center defied orders not to pay for the construction work on the maternity ward, but they continued with shoddy work,” Hon. Balaam stated.
He faulted the quality of the construction, saying it falls short of the standards required for a facility that serves expectant mothers and other patients who rely on the center for maternal health services.
According to Hon. Balaam, the issue is part of a wider concern over development funds that are allocated but fail to deliver visible results to the community.
To address the matter, the minister has called for an immediate audit and investigation into Boro Health Center II by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.
“Those found responsible should be held accountable and any misused funds recovered,” he said.
