The Ministry of Local Government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) held discussions on the Local Economic Growth Support Phase II (LEGS II) Project, including updates on its appraisal and preparation, as well as progress under the ongoing Local Economic Growth Support (LEGS) Project.
The discussions also covered the roll-out of the Market Vendor Management System, construction of markets, strengthening of trade rights, justice and inclusion, and Government Development Financing, with emphasis on improving coordination and advancing inclusive local economic development.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Local Government Headquarters and chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Ben Kumumanya. It brought together officials from the United Nations Development Programme and Commissioners from the Ministry to assess progress, address emerging priorities and strengthen collaboration towards improved local government service delivery.
