Mbarara City – Mbarara City Mayor Robert Mugabe Kakyebezi has presented a number of pressing development and governance challenges to the Minister of Local Government, Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, during a meeting held as part of the minister’s nationwide assessment and anti-corruption engagements.
Among the key issues raised by the Mayor were concerns over the Katete area, the stalled Kanyeite Bridge project, the long-standing land disputes in Rwebikoona, and the challenges facing timber traders associated with Major Victor Bwana, whose businesses were recently destroyed by fire.
The Mayor called for government intervention to address these matters, noting that they have had a significant impact on infrastructure development, land management, and the livelihoods of affected residents and business owners.
