Hon. Balaam Visits Sembabule to Address Corruption, PDM Implementation, and Service Delivery

SEMBABULE: Hon. Balaam has been hosted on Mbabule FM during his visit to Sembabule District, where he engaged residents and local leaders on key issues affecting service delivery and development. The visit follows a directive from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to assess challenges on the ground and strengthen the fight against corruption in local government.

Speaking during the radio program, Hon. Balaam said his mission is to listen to the concerns of the people and ensure that government programs achieve their intended objectives. He noted that corruption remains one of the biggest obstacles to development, preventing communities from benefiting fully from public resources.

Among the major issues discussed were the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM), the state of roads, cases of land grabbing, and other practices that continue to affect livelihoods and economic growth in the district.

Hon. Balaam emphasized that the government has invested significant resources in programs such as the Parish Development Model to improve household incomes and reduce poverty. However, he questioned whether the funds allocated to districts are being used effectively.

“The government sends substantial amounts of money to districts every financial year. The important question is whether that money is doing the work it was intended to do,” he said.
