The Chairperson of Soroti District Local Government, Hon. Bob Owiny, together with the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Ssempala, officially launched the National Cleaning Day for Soroti District at Asuret Trading Centre on Saturday.
The exercise brought together district leaders, technical staff, local leaders, and members of the community in a collective effort to promote environmental cleanliness and public health.
Speaking during the launch, Hon. Bob Owiny urged residents to make cleanliness a regular practice rather than a one-day event, emphasizing that a clean environment helps prevent disease outbreaks and improves the well-being of communities.
Mr. Emmanuel Ssempala called on all public servants, local leaders, and community members to actively support sanitation initiatives and maintain clean homes, trading centres, schools, and public spaces.
The National Cleaning Day exercise reflects the Government’s commitment to promoting proper sanitation, environmental conservation, and community participation in keeping Uganda clean and healthy.
