The Ministry of Local Government today hosted the World Bank Implementation Readiness Mission to review final preparations for the rollout of the Uganda Cities and Municipalities Infrastructure Development (UCMID) Programme.
The meeting was chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Ben Kumumanya, and brought together officials from the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, the World Bank, and other key implementing partners.
The meeting noted significant progress towards implementation, including the finalization of key implementation instruments, the Operations and Implementation Manual, coordinated work plans, and the establishment of a Technical Working Team to support programme delivery, paving the way for programme implementation as the remaining readiness activities are completed.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening implementation readiness through continued capacity building, completion of outstanding performance assessments, and effective coordination to support the successful rollout of the programme.
