Bulambuli District, Uganda – July 10, 2026
Bulambuli District is today hosting the national launch of the country-wide mega campaign dubbed “Expose and Fight Corrupt Officials in Local Governments,” an initiative aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance across local government institutions in Uganda.
The event is led by the Minister for Local Government, Hon. Balaam Barugahara, who is accompanied by the State Minister for Local Government, Hon. Justine Nameere, other ministers, Members of Parliament, and officials from the Ministry of Local Government.
“We have not come to Bulambuli for flowers; we have come to work,” Hon. Balaam says, stressing the government’s determination to fight corruption and hold public officials accountable.
“His Excellency wants a Uganda where the citizens enjoy the benefits,” Hon. Balaam says, urging leaders to uphold integrity, protect public resources, and ensure that government funds are used for their intended purposes. He also calls on citizens to actively support the campaign by exposing corrupt officials and promoting accountability within their communities.
