The two-day Capacity Building Workshop on Basic Bookkeeping Skills for Lower Local Governments, held in Hoima, with a renewed call for integrity and precision in the management of public resources.
Mr Onesmus Mulondo, Program Specialist, Local Government Public Finance Management Reforms(PFM)office for Service Delivery Cluster of REAP, officially closed the workshop on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Ben Kumumanya. He urged participants to translate the lessons learned into improved financial management practices in their respective Sub-Counties, Town Councils and City Divisions.

He noted that finance and accounting officials in lower local governments play a critical role in ensuring that funds reach the intended communities and are put to good use to effectively contribute to the socio-economic transformation of Ugandans.
